The Deferral Activity for System Center Service Manager behaves exactly like a manual activity or a review activity. The only difference is that the activity is automatically marked as completed, failed, approved, or rejected after a period of time that you specify.

Deferral Acitivity can be used just like any other activity within your service request, change request, and release templates.
