Share existing views of the console in the Analyst Portal

Management Summary:
Service Manager offers an almost endless multitude of application possibilities that our customers take full advantage of. Among the results of this are a wide variety of requirements for views, which are created in the console with different filters and columns. The Operaio ITSM Analyst Portal offers the possibility to share all views created in the console. In this way, the analysts see the familiar picture in the portal and do not need to adjust.

A great insight that we have gained over the years in consulting and supporting our customers in relation with the Service Manager is the wide range of applications of the SCSM in day-to-day business. The Service Manager offers a very flexible platform to virtually map all business cases that an IT organization needs to manage.

What is a result of this? Each customer has specific needs regarding which objects should be displayed in the console as views. The Service Manager is so flexible that any type of view (which is equivalent to a display of data) can be created. In addition to the appropriate filter, there is also the right selection of columns. All of this is crucial for the analysts to be able to work efficiently. By using our Advanced View Editor, even more is possible than the standard Microsoft view offers – but more about this in another blog post.

Let’s assume that a customer has put a lot of thought and work into developing the views that are suitable for their needs. If the customer now uses an analyst portal, these views are lost in most third-party portals – they are defined as own views, which in the best case are still modifiable – but not more. Unlike the Operaio ITSM Portal! We have completely refrained from defining our own views, which are supplied in the analyst portal – it simply does not make sense due to the wide range of possible applications. In the Operaio ITSM Portal all views of the console can be released individually in the Analyst Portal. The portal shows exactly the same objects, as filters and columns are adopted 1:1. By the way, the role model is also taken into account – a released view is only visible in the portal if it is released for an analyst via the SCSM role model.
